Practical driving test.
When suitably trained, you can apply for your practical driving test. At the start of the test the examiner will check your details
then conduct an eyesight check (Read a new style number plate at 20mtrs or old at 20.5mtrs). He will then ask you two vehicle safety
check questions, one show me and one tell me (both must be answered correctly or you will incur one driving fault).
You will then be
asked to drive the car along a test route for approximately 40 minutes of which 20 minutes will be under independent driving conditions.
You will also be asked to perform one reversing manoeuvre and may be asked to perform an emergency stop.
During the whole test you
can make up to 15 driving faults and still pass the test however, if just 1 serious or dangerous fault is recorded you will have failed
the test. The examiner does not work to quotas; if you are competent enough you will pass.
